Leopold, Indiana - Raymond O. ""Hot Shot"" Goffinet, 85, passed away at 1:00 AM on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills. He was born in Leopold, Indiana, on May 2, 1925. His parents were the late Charlie and Gertrude (Wheatley) Goffinet. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Hazel Kieser, Marie Jarboe and Theresa Mallory; and brothers, Leonard, Herman, Dewey and Vernie Goffinet. Raymond married Rosalie Hempfling on May 2, 1970 in Tell City. He retired from Mulzer Crushed Stone where he had worked for over 35 years. A member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, ""Hot Shot"" enjoyed mowing grass, visiting with people and going to shooting matches and church picnics where he displayed his many rock collections. Survivors: Wife - Rosalie Goffinet Sisters - Bessie Genet and Martha Genet, both of Leopold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Rev. Aaron Pfaff officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM on Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a prayer service at 6:45 PM on Monday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
