Ray Flamion

St. Croix, Indiana Ray J. Flamion, 81, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was born in Perry County February 6, 1931 son of the late Albert and Ethel Josephine "Josie" (Wheatley) Flamion. Also preceding him in death were a sister Veronia Flamion and brothers, Willard, Marcus, and Gerald Flamion. He was US Army veteran and lifetime farmer. He was united in marriage to Janie Allen November 27, 1958 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Ray was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, American Legion Post #213 and Ohio Valley Tractor Association. He enjoyed farming, playing euchre and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janie Flamion; sons, Roger Flamion (Kay), St. Croix, Ricky Flamion (Denise), St. Croix, Jeff Flamion (Lisa), St. Croix, and Bruce Flamion (Sue), Ferdinand; sisters, Rosemary Etienne, Leopold, Evelyn Harpenau, Branchville, Cornelia Harpenau, LeRoy, Illinois, Jean Etienne, Tell City, and Sue Hessig, St. Croix; brothers, Donald Flamion, Tell City and Andrew Flamion, Leopold; 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Bradley, Amanda, Jessica, Aaron, Cassandra, Mackenzie, Emily, Cody and Brent; 2 great grandchildren, Adalyne and Camden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery, where there will be military rites conducted by American Legion Post #213. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 until 10:15AM Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Cemetery.
