Raphael Lagrange

August 24, 1931 — January 23, 2020

Tell City, Indiana Raphael L. "Zeke" LaGrange, 88, passed away January 23, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Apalona, Indiana on August 24, 1931 to the late Thomas and Ethel (Lamkin) LaGrange. Also preceding him in death were twin grandsons, Curtis and Logan Price; a brother, Francis LaGrange and a sister, Opal Dixon. Zeke was a 1950 graduate of Cannelton High School. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and after his discharge from the military he served in the Indiana National Guard for four years. On June 27, 1954, Zeke was united in marriage to Shirley Lottes, who survives. In his earlier years, Zeke owned and operated, Zeke's Bar and Grill and managed the Lincoln Trail Motel Lounge. He retired from Commonwealth Aluminum after 22 years. Zeke was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2939, serving on its funeral detail, American Legion Post #213 and formerly served on the Perry County Alcohol and Beverage Commission. Zeke enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, camping, watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Shirley LaGrange, Tell City; daughters, Vicki Taillole (Norbert), Scottsdale, AZ and Sheri Price (Dean), Noblesville, IN; a sister, Linda Hess, Tell City; brother, Gilbert LaGrange (Debbie), Evansville; sister in law, Janette LaGrange, Tell City; grandchildren, Ashley Taillole, Erika O'Neil (Roy), Justin Taillole and Bryan and Tori Price; one great granddaughter, Emeline O'Neil and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. Nathan Rusert will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Heart to Heart Hospice.
