Ralph Sims

Troy, Indiana Ralph L. ""Jake"" Sims, 85, at 8:00 AM Thursday April 5, 2007 at his home in Troy. Ralph was born November 7, 1921 in Perry County, Indiana son of the late John and Della (Litherland) Sims. Also preceding him in death was a son, Rodney Sims, two brothers, Doug & Lloyd Sims, and two sisters in infancy. His sister, Marguerite Naegele, passed away a few hours after Ralph on Thursday. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving in WWII. Ralph married Jo Anna Ernst in Hardinsburg, Kentucky on November 11, 1992. He retired from Can Tex in Cannelton in 1977 and had worked with his son at Ralph's Tire Shop. Ralph enjoyed spending time on his farm. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anna (Ernst), Troy, Indiana, a son, Ralph E. Sims, Cannelton, Indiana, and a daughter, Bonita Gentry, Dixon, Kentucky, and one brother, Floyd Sims, Troy, Indiana, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2006 at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel with burial in New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton. Pastor William Van Nunen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
