Ralph Malone

Tell City, Indiana Ralph S. Malone, 85, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born on July 5, 1929, in Tell City, son of the late Frank and Hettie (Simpson) Malone. Also preceding him in death was his wife Rebecca "Becky" (Ludwig) Malone in 2009, and a son, Danny Malone. He was a 1947 graduate of Tell City High School, and was on a sectional winning basketball team. Ralph and Becky were united in marriage on November 17, 1949, in Tell City. Ralph was member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a life member of Knights of Columbus, and a past member of the Tell City Volunteer Fire Department and Tell City Jaycees. He retired as owner and operator of Ralph's Texaco for over 30 years. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, and was an avid sports fan, especially Tell City Athletics. He is survived by three daughters; Jennifer Copeland, Evansville, Molly Byrd (Tom), Hardinsburg, KY, and Katie Rothgerber (Dean), Tell City; four sons, Mike Malone (Rachel), Evanston, Pat Malone, Evansville, Tim Malone (Gletus), Evansville, and Kelly Malone (Lana), Tell City; sisters, Beula James, Ellettsville, Eula Smith, Tell City and Alice Ray, Plainfield; brother, Earl Malone, Newburgh; grandchildren, Holly Reine, Megan Copeland, David Copeland, Jason Copeland, Dax Malone, Mykeal Wigger, Zachary Malone, Sean Malone, Erin Byrd, Seth Byrd, Kelsey Malone, Brennan Malone, Evan Rothgerber; great grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Reine, William Reine, Jackson Reine, Faith Reine, Garrett Copeland, Gavin, Copeland, Hudson Copeland, Brady Copeland, Caylin Wigger, Drew Wigger, Nate Wigger, Audra Rose Wigger, Kyle Cross, Jade Malone, John-Allan Malone, Brayden Malone, Ally Malone, Makade Malone, Brooklynn Byrd, Kierra Byrd and Karsen Dean Rothgerber. A special thank you to Oakwood Health Campus and Gentiva Hospice for the care given to Ralph…..and to Charlie for all of the bus rides. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM CST Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a K of C memorial service at 6:30 PM on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Pius Catholic Church or to your favorite charity.
