Cannelton, Indiana, Phyllis Keziah Konold May, 93, of Cannelton, passed away at her home on May 31, 2013. Phyllis was born in Oriole, Indiana on April 19, 1920, ninth child of the late John Henry Konold and Mary Elizabeth Esarey Konold. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Konold, Hilda Baldwin, Miriam Galey, Ada Goldman, Edith Compton, Bernice Patton, Hetty Ahrens, Susan Lamkin and Jack (Jasper) Konold. Phyllis was also preceded in death in 2001 by her beloved husband, Forrest A. May, a former Perry County Veteran's Service Officer and Clerk of Perry County Circuit Court. Phyllis, along with her husband, operated a dairy farm in the Oriole area. She was member of St. Paul Catholic Church. With an artistic nature, Phyllis loved flower gardening and had been a pianist since the age of four. Being the youngest daughter of a large family, she learned to cook for her family at an early age and continued that love throughout her life. A loving mother and grandmother, Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Paulette May Esarey and a grandson, Rev. Brian Esarey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 6 at St. Paul Catholic Church with later burial in German Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. A Celebration of Life meal will be held at St. Augustine Church Hall following the mass. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Augustine Renovation Fund. Huber Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
