Tell City, Indiana Phyllis J. Hinton, 80, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born August 12, 1934 in Clay County, West Virginia daughter of the late Alva and Pansy (Moore) Brown. Also preceding her in death was a son, Daniel Wesley Hinton, sisters, Jeanette Legg and June Bauer, great grandson Tyler Zoglman, and step great grandson Keagan Overstreet. Phyllis was a1952 graduate of Clay High School. She was united in marriage at First Baptist Church, June 27, 1955 to Owen Wesley Hinton, who survives. Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church, and past member of Perry County Hospital Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and working in her yard and home. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Owen W. Hinton; daughter, Rebecca Holloway, Tell City; sons, Rodney and Phillip Hinton, both of Tell City; sisters, Lila Daniels, Rockport, Barbara Maynus, Fayetteville, West Virginia, Drusilla Harris, Danese, West Virginia, Leah Joan Douglas, Blair, South Carolina; brother, Aaron Brown, Evansville; ten grandchildren, Brandi Fetcher, Nicole Hinton, Renae Thompson, Illia Leibering, Jacob Lindauer, Seth Lindauer, Tiffany Gilmore, Kristen Harris, Angela Voyles and Wesley Hinton, thirteen great grandchildren five step grandchildren, Jennifer Glynn, Cullen Scott, Uriah Scott, Hollie Perry and Heather Overstreet, and 10 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 12, 2015 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Dan Hopkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday and from noon until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
