Pauline Thorn, 80, passed away on March 17, 2025.
She was born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky on January 21, 1945, a daughter of Joseph R. and Lillis C. (Henning) Wethington.
Pauline graduated from St. Romuald High School in Hardinsburg. After graduating she then started her family. Pauline was a loving example of a mother and grandmother who tirelessly worked to care for her family, leading them in love and faith.
Pauline enjoyed sewing for herself, family and countless others.
She had worked at Kimball International and retired from Masterbrand cabinets. She later worked and retired from Wal-Mart.
Pauline was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the church’s St. Ann’s Society. She was the Sacristan at St. Michael for several years, always making sure that the church was ready for any holy days, weddings, funerals or changes in liturgical times. Pauline was also on the quilting committee at church and always willing to lend a helping hand with funeral meals, fish dinners or small projects around church. Her Catholic faith was of utmost importance to her.
Surviving her are her children, Gary Smith (Rita), Pat Luther (Jeff), Rick Smith (Dolly), Paula Howell (Paul) and Danielle Corley (Chris); grandchildren, Jamie, Molly, Ashley, Candace, Garett, Nicholas, Brandie, Kacey, Cory, Josh, Micah, Coty, Levi, Raelynn, Emmalynn, Major, Treighlan and Isaac; great grandchildren, Allyson, Maleah, Emery, Gabby, Maggie, Brendon, Evan, Zander, Kyla, Zoey, Piper, Evelyn, Kayleigh, Soren, Brinlee, Monroe, Aiden and Tyler; siblings, Ann Craig (Delson), Raymond Wethington (Margie), Gerald Wethington (Peggy), John Wethington (Mary), Helen Merrick (Don), Alice Popham, Donny Wethington (Janette), Larry Wethington, Janice McGraw and Cathy Franck and brother-in-law, Joe Stupak.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Arthur Thorn and a sister, Lucye Stupak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Romuald Cemetery in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. Rev. Stephen Donahue will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM and from 8:00 until 9:30 AM on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church or Samaritan’s Purse.
