Tell City, Indiana - Paul Wayne Peter, 71, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 12, 2010, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Perry County on August 1, 1938, son of the late Albert and Zelda (Meunier) Peter. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Kenneth Peter, a nephew, Brian Peter and a son-in-law, David Terry. Paul Wayne married Linda Sue Wint on June 14, 1958, at St. Paul Catholic Church. He had served in the National Guard and was a member of the Anderson Township Volunteer Fire Department. Paul Wayne was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and had recently been attending St. Pius Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus #1172. Paul Wayne retired from Fischer's Furniture and Appliance after working there for several years. He owned Paul Peter Water Hauling and enjoyed collecting tractors, going to antique tractor shows and NASCAR, especially Bill Elliott. Paul Wayne was most proud of his children and grandchildren and valued time spent with all of them. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda his children, Debbie Terry Dauby and her children, Misty Kendall, Eric Butters, Stephanie Winkler and Shane and Kelsey Terry Roger Peter and his son, Wes Peter Randy Peter and his children, Morgan, Bethany and Addison Peter and Randell Harper Paula Patton (Ray, Jr.) and their children, Kristen and Katelyn Patton Sherri Fortwendel (Tim) and their children, Corey and Jalynn Fortwendel Lisa Wardrip (Dennis) and their children Logan and Lukus Wardrip Cindy Young (Johnny) and their son, Dylan Young Mindy Lawalin (Nathan) and their daughters, Haylee and Emalee Lawalin Paul Wayne has six great grandchildren, Cody Winkler, Kyle and Zachary Kendall, Wyatt Nix, Elizabeth Dickman and Brooklyn Terry He also has seven surviving brothers and sisters, Richard, Joe, Vince, Pat and Dave Peter, Margie Bolin and Carol Lautner A Mass of Christian Burial will held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at St. Pius Catholic Church with burial in St. Mark's Cemetery. Rev. Barnabas Gillespie, OSB, will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 8:00 until 9:30 AM on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a Knights of Columbus service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County EMS, Anderson Township Volunteer Fire Department or Tell City Fire Department.
