Paul Hoffman

August 26, 1947 — April 21, 2015

Tell City, Indiana Paul Hoffman, 67, passed away April 21, 2015 at his home. He was born in Tell City, August 26, 1947, son of the late Jacob and Grethel (Kahle) Hoffman Also preceding him death were sisters, Jane Cronin and Mary Lou Hays, and a brother, Jake Hoffman. He attended St. Paul Grade School and graduated from St. Meinrad High School in 1965. He graduated from Brescia College in 1971. Paul was united in marriage August 25, 1973 to Darlene Coyle at St. Michael Catholic Church. He retired in 2013 from National Office, in Santa Claus, a division of Kimball International, after 35 years. He had also worked at Alcoa and Dale Wood. Paul was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where he had been a religious education teacher. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, yard work and was a Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts and IU basketball fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Darlene Hoffman; daughters, Amy Shields (Jeremy), Tell City and Lori Hoagland (Eric), Owensboro, Kentucky; brother, Steve Hoffman (Jennifer), Scottsdale, Arizona; five grandchildren, Griffin Shields, Lexi and Kate Hayden and Lily and Carter Hoagland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, April 24, 2015, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery in Cannelton. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church and St. Michael Cemetery.
