Patty Spurlock

Patricia Ann “Patty” Spurlock, 83, passed away on October 21, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Madison, Indiana on July 14, 1941, daughter of Granville and Beulah Back.

Patty was married on July 4, 1959, to Nathan Spurlock. They shared 51 years together until his passing in 2010.

A homemaker, who loved to take care of her family, Patty also babysat for children who fondly referred to her as “Nanny”. She enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes, crafting, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as they were her world.

Patty will be remembered as always having a welcoming personality and was pleasant and friendly to anyone she would meet.

Surviving are her children, Robin Smitson (John) and Granville Spurlock (Brenda); sister, Nancy Hawkins (Ivan); grandchildren, Amanda Miller (Mike), Grace Smitson (Brandon Howell), Dylan and Aubrey Spurlock and great grandchildren, Trent Moore, Zander Thomas, Hayden and Hannah Miller, Sydnei Parrott, Dakota and Hunter Howell.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Nathan Spurlock; sisters, Shirley in infancy, and Rachel; grandson, Tyler Spurlock and great grandson, Jacob Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Brother Walter Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel.
