Cannelton, Indiana - Ollie C. Lane, 79, passed away at 1 AM on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the home of her son in Hawesville, Kentucky. She was born in Perry County on February 21, 1933. Her parents were the late Wesley and Frieda (Persinger) Layman. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Basil Lane; son, Basil D. Lane; daughter, Lorna Faye Lane; sisters, Wanda Lane and Helen Devillez and a brother-in-law, Marvin Lane. A lifelong homemaker, Ollie enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar and writing music. She followed football, particularly her favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers. Her passing was timely, since she loved horse racing, especially the Kentucky Derby. Ollie loved spending time with her family. Ollie is survived by her daughters, Judy Cooper, Hawesville, Kentucky, Rita Cecil, Tell City, sons, Rick Lane/Downs and Rocky Lane, Hawesville, Ronnie, Paul, Jeff and Tim Lane of Tell City, Wesley Lane, New Troy, Michigan, brother, Ernest Layman, Racine, Wisconsin. There are several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 7, 2012 at Huber Funeral Home, 129 N. 6th Street, Cannelton, Indiana with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Pastor Ron Ammon will officiate. Visitation is from 2:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday and 9:00 - 10:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
