Oliver Park

Magnet, Indiana - Oliver C. "Bill" Park, 78, passed away on February 2, 2014, at Kindred Healthcare in Corydon. He was born in Perry County on March 22, 1935. His parents were the late Shelby and Myrtle (Nicholson) Park. Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy F. Reece, in 1959, in Michigan City. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving from 1955-1958. In 2001, Bill retired as captain at Branchville Correctional Facility. He was promoted to Captain at the youngest age of any employee at that time. Bill worked for Indiana State Prisons for 43 years, first in Michigan City, then moving to Branchville. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Park, Corydon; daughter, Gina Wagner (Bobby), Sellersburg; sister, Elaine Harris, Richmond and a grandson, Joshua L. Pickford, Sellersburg. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CST Wednesday, February 5, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, with burial in Stephenson Cemetery in Magnet. There will be visitation from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Stephenson Cemetery.
