Tell City, Indiana Oliver Lloyd Davis, 91, passed away November 3, 2012 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Oliver was born January 12, 1921 in Perry County, son of the late Walter and Margaret (Spath) Davis. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Hazel Hempfling, Flora Wolf, Alberta Kimberlin and Evelyn Dick and a brother in infancy. Oliver was united in marriage on November 15, 1947 at St. Marks to the former Margaret Harpenau, who survives. He was employed at Tell City Furniture Company, and later retired in 1982 from Emge Packing Company. He was a World War II United States Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2939. Oliver was also a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, making furniture and was an avid reader. Oliver is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret Davis; sons, Wayne Davis, Savoy, Illinois, Dennis Davis, Johnson City, Tennessee, Kevin Davis, Tell City, Indiana, grandchildren, Courtney Larson and Eric, Kyle, Kristopher and Kelcie Davis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Guy Mansini, O.S.B. officiating. Entombment will be in Greenwood Cemetery where the members of the V.F.W. will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation is from 8:00-10:00 AM Monday at St. Isidore. Huber Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Public Library or the Humane Society of Perry County.
