Tell City, Indiana Norman Alfred Hubert, 79, passed away on April 7, 2021. He was born in Leopold, Indiana on March 14, 1942, son of Edwin E. and Olivia C. (Goffinet) Hubert. Norman was a 1962 graduate of Oil Township School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Electric where he worked for "31 years, 3 months and 15 days" according to Norman. He was united in marriage on June 27, 1987, to Mary Maxine Gordon, at First Christian Church in Troy. Norman was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, American Legion Post #213, D.A.V and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #2939. He enjoyed tinkering and repairing, traveling to Branson with Maxine and listening to music; particularly the Bee Gees with his niece, Kim. Norman looked forward to his daily breakfasts at Dairy Queen with friends, Ryen Foertsch and Ed Frizzell, visiting with David Eigel, his friend since childhood, and Ronnie Kleaving, his friend and GE co-worker. Surviving is a niece, Kim Albin (Gary Brahm) Bristow, his caregivers; nieces and nephews, Vicki Harding, Jasper, Jeff Albin, Tell City, Dr. Greg Gordon (Kim), Jasper, and Steve Gordon (Lisa), Santa Claus and six great nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Maxine Hubert and a sister, Darlene, who died in infancy. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM CST on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Billy Lain will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. The family appreciates family and friends wearing masks to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Church Cemetery Fund.
