Norma Smith

Tell City, Indiana - Norma "Jean" Smith, 80, passed away on December 28, 2012, at her home. She was born in Grandview, on July 17, 1932. Her parents were the late Clarence Wetzel Smith and Stella Jane (Bunner) Smith. Also preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters, Darvin Ray Smith, Lois Talbott, Chester Smith, Delores Marshall, Nina Scherer, Vaughn Smith and Bernadine Masterson. A graduate of Chrisney High School, "Jean" married Ralph Smith on June 18, 1971, at Grandview Methodist Church. She retired from General Electric after 25 years. Jean was a member of Collins Chapel-Troy United Methodist Church. She was an associate member of Indiana Retired Teacher's Association and enjoyed quilting, traveling, gardening, and visiting with friends at Ponderosa and Arby's. Surviving her are her husband, Ralph R. "Dick" Smith; brother, Ronald Smith, Chandler; nieces and nephews; adopted daughter, Deb Parker (Earl), Tell City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in New Hope Cemetery at Newtonville. Rev. Bill Reid will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday and from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Troy United Methodist Church.
