Nettie Young

Cannelton, Indiana - Nettie M. Young, 93, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Madisonville, Kentucky, on February 15, 1923. Her parents were the late Andrew and Connie (May) Davis. Also preceding her in death was her husband, John W. Young; a son, John Young, Jr. (Mary K.); sisters, Wanda Haller, Betty Knable and Violet Pickett and a brother, Freddy Davis. Nettie retired from General Electric, was a ham radio operator, enjoyed crocheting and going to TOPS meetings. Surviving are her daughter, Joann Paris (Denny); a sister, Darcus Brown; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2016, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday. Rev. Dea Goad will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Animal Shelter.
