Bristow, Indiana - Nellie Mae Flamion, 83, passed away on November 8, 2013, at her home. She was born in St. Croix on October 9, 1930. Her parents were the late Albert and Angela (Flannagan) Riat. Also preceding her in death were her sons in infancy, Sammy Ray Flamion and Randy Lee Flamion; sisters, Lucille, in infancy, Alberta LeClere, Birdine Poehlein, Henrietta Wilson, Patricia Flamion Leamons; granddaughter, Brooke Flamion and grandson, David Richard. She married Ivan Flamion on April 10, 1948 in Cannelton at St. Michael Catholic Church. They were married for 65 years. Nellie was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where she was active in her church choir, cleaning the church and taught religion. She was head of the chili committee for the St. Isidore Shooting Match for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Nellie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ivan Flamion; children, Sandra Richard, Tell City and Rick Flamion (Patricia), Holland; sister Margie Barger (John), Indianapolis; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church with burial in St. Isidore Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 until 10:15 AM on Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church, St. Isidore Cemetery or Brooke's Journey, care of Dubois County Community Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
