Cannelton, Indiana Nell Rose Embry, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was born in Hanson, Kentucky on November 26, 1934, daughter of Elbert and Ida (Shadrick) Sisk. Nell was united in marriage to Paul "Pete" Embry on April 6, 1950 in Cloverport, Ky. She loved to clean and organize and had cleaned Fischer's Furniture Store for over 25 years and many other homes for friends and neighbors. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kingswood, KY. Nell enjoyed taking walks, sewing, cooking, reading and spending time with her family. Most importantly, Nell enjoyed helping others; especially donating items to Agape'. Survivors include her children, Barbara Matthews (Phillip, deceased), Hardinsburg, KY, Paul Embry (Rita), Texas and Karen Sue Poehlein (John Lee), Cannelton; grandchildren, Phillip Matthews (Andrea), Mike Matthews (Jackie Daugherty), Jason Embry, Matt Embry and Katherine Brennan (Greg) and great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Luke and Cole Matthews, Madelyn DeWitt (Lucian), Tyler and Jacob Matthews, Korie, Kyleigh and Elaina Embry and Brian Brennan. Preceding her in death other than her parents and husband, were two sisters and two brothers, including her twin brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Brother Bob Walton will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
