Morris Scheler

Magnet, Indiana - Morris W. Scheler, 78, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home. He was born October 10, 1934 in Harrison County, son of the late Virgil and Elizabeth (McCoy) Scheler. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Pamela Scheler and sister, Ruth Brown. He was united in marriage April 23, 1955, at Sacred Heart Church to Betty Goffinet. Morris retired from Mulzer's Crushed Stone in 2001. A member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing solitaire and spending time with family and friends. Morris is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Scheler; daughters, Beth Flamion (Jerry), Magnet, Shelley Wheatley, Tell City and Jema Watts (Mike), Tell City; sisters, Dorothy Starkey and Anna George, both of Tell City; 9 grandchildren, Adam and Jordan Warford , Julian Wheatley, Leanne Halford, Molly and Shelby Flamion, Laura, Evan and Matthew Watts; 6 great grandchildren, Bryce, Ethan and Reece Halford, Ainsley, Addison and Asa Warford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Derby. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Friday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 PM on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church Renovation Fund or St. Mary's Cemetery, Derby.
