Mildred Bertram

October 11, 1937 — October 15, 2022

Mildred M. Terry Bertram, 85, passed away at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital on October 15, 2022. She was born in Tell City, Indiana on October 11, 1937 to Joshua and Daisy (Hurst) Holmes. Mildred was a 1955 graduate of Cannelton High School. She retired in 1993 from General Electric after 25 years. Mildred enjoyed reading, crocheting, flower gardening and loved going to yard sales and flea markets. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. In the words of her family, "Granny" was a wonderful wife, loving mother and a spunky grandmother who worked hard, but loved harder. She lived a life filled with fun and laughter, had amazing friends and neighbors that cared for her like she was their own. Mildred loved to travel near and far across the country and was always the champion of the "name that tune" game on the radio, which was always impressive. In Mildred's life, she did things her way and continued to do so until the end. She let nothing stand in her way of what she wanted. To hear the stories of her life she has taught us that true love can never die. Mildred, we will hold you in our hearts and we will never let you go. You are free now, no more pokes, no more sickness, no more pain. There will only forever be love. From the bottom of our hearts, the family wishes to thank Glenn and Linda and Jerry and Betty for helping out and looking out for Mildred. She couldn't have done it without you. The lives that she touched in her 85 years include her granddaughters, Charla Rogier (Jeremy) and Felecia Voyles, all of Tell City; a sister, Anna Applegate, Tell City and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Emmett Terry; second husband, James "Walkie" Bertram; daughters, Marjorie Allen and Charlene K. Bolin. Per the request of Mildred, funeral services will be private. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Bertram.
