Merle Sims

Tell City, Indiana Merle Sims, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born June 16, 1930 in Perry County son of the late Joshua and Goldia (Reed) Sims. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Warren Sims. Merle was united in marriage to Mildred McKim October 25, 1949, who survives. He was a US Army veteran and self- employed construction worker. Merle enjoyed bowling and fishing and was a member of VFW Post #2939, American Legion Post #213, and Tell City Masonic Lodge #623. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Sims, Cannelton and sister Inez Fishback, Owensboro. Funeral services will be at 12:00PM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in New Cliff Cemetery, where there will be gravesite rites conducted by VFW Post #2939. Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #2939.
