Mendel Miller

Tell City, Indiana - Mendel Miller, 89, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012. He was born in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky, on May 20, 1923. His parents were the late Aaron and Maggie (Rich) Miller. Mendel was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Aaron Miller. He served in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946 with tours in Rhineland, Germany, Central Europe and Alaska. Mendel retired from IBEW Local 553 and was a member of American Legion Post #254, in Rockport, and a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Owensboro, Kentucky. He enjoyed flea markets and scratching lottery tickets. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty June (Spiehler) Miller; daughters, Marsha Neagley (Dan), Ozark, Alabama, Brenda Fambrough, Robards, Kentucky, Donna Williams (James, Jr.), Slaughters, Kentucky, Susan Litherland (Larry), Tell City and Dana Loughman, Tell City; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockport, with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post #254. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Rev. Paul Haaff will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Animal Shelter.
