Melba Cardinal

Tell City, Indiana Melba D. Cardinal, 83, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 1:53 PM at Oakwood Health Systems. She was born October 16, 1921 in Monroe City, Indiana to the late Oliver P. and Jenivee (Workman) Like. Melba was married to Curtis G. Cardinal on August 10, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a legal secretary in Pike County and a court reporter in Knox County. Melba enjoyed hunting and trap shooting, flower gardening and playing the piano and organ. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Curtis G. and a son Brent Cardinal both of Tell City, Indiana, and a brother Wayburn Like of Evansville, Indiana. Melba had two grandchildren, Jeremy Cardinal and Jennifer Foster and one great grandchild, Anna Jane Cardinal. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel with burial at 1:00 PM Saturday Mt. Zion Cemetery in Monroe City, Indiana. Visitation will be on Friday, September 30 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
