Mary Winchell

Tell City, Indiana - Mary Ann Winchell, 73, passed away on June 18, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was born in Gerald, Indiana, on November 7, 1938. She married Hubert ""Hooks"" Winchell on February 15, 1958, at First United Methodist Church in Cannelton. He passed away in 1997. Mary Ann loved children and was a foster parent for 22 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and cooking. Surviving are children, Stephen Poehlein, New Boston, Lana Winchell, Velpen, ""Tosh"" Winchell, Velpen, Grant ""Opie"" Winchell, Santa Claus and Patricia Kendall, Velpen; sister, Elsie Gann, Otwell and Debbie Weedman, St. Croix; brothers, Douglas Harlen, Fort Smith, Arkansas, Louis Harlen, Petersburg and Kermit Harlen, Velpen; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Gilliand Cemetery in Derby. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday. Rev. Lee Brown will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
