Mary Scheidegger

Cannelton, Indiana, Mary Scheidegger, 89, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. She was born in Eldorado, Illinois, on January 30, 1920. Her parents were the late Avery and Fronie (House) Keown. Also preceding her in death were her sisters Louise Lassiter, Beulah Roberts, brothers, Marquis ""Monk"" Keown, Sr., Edward, Walter ""Jack"", Jay and Jesse Keown and a half brother, Arnold Keown. Mary was united in marriage on January 30, 1940 to William C. ""Booby"" Scheidegger at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton. She and her husband owned and operated Scheidegger's 66 in Cannelton for over 40 years. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society and Harry G. Myers American Legion Auxiliary Post #142. Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at St. Michael Catholic Church with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church or American Cancer Society.
