Mary Rhodes

Tell City, Indiana Mary Nell Rhodes, 76, passed away October 3, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born June 9, 1941 in Tell City, Indiana to the late William Gore and Gladys (Adams) Hattenbach. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Lee Roy Rhodes; a granddaughter, Katie Elizabeth Rhodes; step mother, Rosetta Gore; step father, James Hattenbach; and sister, Barbara Harlen. Mary Nell was a 1959 graduate of Cannelton High School. She was united in marriage on March 26, 1960 to Lee Roy Rhodes, who preceded her in death in 1987. Mary Nell retired in 2010 from Perry County Memorial Hospital where she worked as an account representative in billing and insurance for 26 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, going to casinos and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. Surviving are her children, Kevin Rhodes and Kathy Briggeman (David), all of Tell City; brothers, Bobby and David Hattenbach, Tell City and Tom Hattenbach, Henderson, KY; sisters, Joyce Crawford, Tell City, Kathy Schuler, Deatsville, AL and Billie Franklin, Brandenburg, KY; brother -in-law, Melvin (Marilyn) Rhodes, Cannelton; grandchildren, Ivy Rhodes, Jordan Rhodes (Sarah), Courtney Sabelhaus (Brandon) and Tara Briggeman; great grandchildren, Levi and Kason Sabelhaus, Aden Story and Zoey Lanham. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Mayor Jim Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in New Cliff Cemetery, Cannelton. Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2017 from 2:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Memorial Hospital or Heart to Heart Hospice.
