Tell City, Indiana Mary Ida Powers, 88, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Perry County, September 27, 1926 daughter of the late Jon and Edna (May) Robson. Mary Ida was united in marriage March 17, 1951 to Robert E. "Bob" Powers at First United Methodist Church in Cannelton. He passed away July 27, 2014. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Virginia, in infancy. A 1947 graduate of Cannelton High School, she was a licensed cosmetologist and, in her younger days, had her own beauty shop in Cannelton. She had been a cook at Cannelton City Schools and had also worked at the OAKS as a receptionist. She enjoyed gambling, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Mary Ida is survived by her daughter; Kimberly Powers Ball, Tell City; sons, Robert B. Powers (Barbara), Richard J. "Dickie" Powers (Anne) and Kelly Powers, all of Tell City; five grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Marievelyn, Samantha and Brandon Powers, two step-grandchildren, Allen and Deanna Walker, four great grandchildren, Ian, McKenzie, Nicholas and Wyatt Powers. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Bro. Lewis C. Garrett will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 8:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Council on Aging (OAKS) in Cannelton.
