Mary Highfill

Tell City, Indiana Mary Alice Highfill, 78, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born January 1, 1935 in Breckenridge County, KY, daughter of the late Percy and Ella (Critcheloe) Hockenberry. Also preceding her in death was her husband Eugene Highfill in 2011, a son in infancy, son Steve "Flywheel" Highfill, sisters, Imogene Elverd and Dottie Harrison, brother, Coleman Hockenberry, grandson, Jody Hockenberry, and granddaughter, Autumn Rickard. Mary Alice had worked at General Electric and Farbest Foods. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, going to auctions, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter; Debbie Cash, Tell City; sons, Charlie Highfill, St. Meinrad, and Michael Highfill, Cannelton; sister, Shirley Harrison, Ferdinand; brothers, Danny Dale Hockenberry, Locust Hill, KY, James Hockenberry, Westview, KY and William Hockenberry, Hawesville, KY; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel with burial in Badger Cemetery in Derby. Bro. Arlie Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday and from 9:00 until 11:00 AM Wednesday.
