Martha Anderson

Tell City, Indiana Martha (Tanner) Anderson, 95, went to be with the Lord September 18, 2014. She was born September 7, 1919, in Perry County, daughter of the late William Arthur and Elsie (McCallister) Tanner. Also preceding her in death was her husband James M. Anderson in 1982; sisters, Elsie Vandgrift and Zelda Tanner; brothers, Charles, Arthur and Raymond Tanner. After 29 years of service, Martha retired in 1981, from William Tell Woodcrafters. She was always an active member of Deer Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing, quilting and woodworking. She is survived by her five children; Virginia Anderson, of Terre Haute, Martha Sue Dever (Tom), of Princeton, James E. "Jim" Anderson (Ronda), of Evansville, Nancy Popp, of Evansville, and Rose Mary Anderson, of Center Point; sisters, Mary Louise Fenneman, Holland, IN and Marcella Vandgrift, Madison, GA; eight grandchildren, Jeff Anderson, Tracy McEuen, Scott Anderson, Mary Lou Morrison, Jennifer Morrison, Kyle Knauer, Jimmy Cheesman and Martha Marie Dever Reynolds; eight great grandchildren, Ella Marie Reynolds, Jesse McEuen, Jake McEuen, Hailey Anderson, Dylan Anderson, Bradyn Bower, Kaylie Newhouse and Tanner Sparks. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 22, 2014 at Deer Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Elmer Shelby will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and from 10:00 AM until service time Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Deer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
