Branchville, Indiana - Martenia (Kelly) Goldman, 95, passed away quietly on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at her home. She was born in St. Croix, Indiana, on November 10, 1917, daughter of the late James and Matilda (Judge) Kelly. A 1936 graduate of Oriole High School, Martenia was united in marriage on February 9, 1937, to Howard Goldman at Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix. They were blessed with eight children. Her family was proudly the center of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Goldman Dairy Farm. Martenia was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she was active in the Alter Society. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, playing euchre and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martenia is survived by her daughters, Tilly Woodring of Fishers, Paula Goldman of Indianapolis, Sandy Tackett (Bob) of Noblesville, Vicki Goldman of Branchville, Theresa Kloeppel (Joe) of St. Croix and Mary Goldman of Branchville; grandchildren, Bob Woodring, Billy Woodring, Melissa Philhower, James Kloeppel, Timmy Kloeppel, Gary Tackett and Rob Tackett, who is a chief warrant officer 3, currently serving his country in Afghanistan; great grandchildren, Tommy Woodring, Charlie Woodring, Jackson Philhower and Ellie Philhower. Martenia was preceded in death besides her parents by two sons, Marcus and James Goldman; husband, Howard Goldman; sisters, Irene Evrard, Marian Harvey and Helen Vandeventer; brothers, James Kelly and Paul Kelly and a son-in-law, Bob Woodring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM (noon) on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:30 until 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.
