Marshall Terry

Tell City, Indiana Marshall E. "Doc" Terry, 87, passed away February 19, 2020 at Woodmont Health Center in Boonville, Indiana. He was born in Gatchel, Indiana February 18, 1933, son of the late Lloyd K. and Lillian (Lawalin) Terry. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Lloyd K. "Jack" Terry, Jr. and Bob Terry and sisters Carolyn Purtzer, Alice Moesner and Betty Cronin. Doc was united in marriage to Ruth Hall January 11, 1958, who survives. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving 12 years in the military with nine years in the Army. Doc was a member of Lilly Dale Church of Christ, 33rd Infantry Regimental Combat Team and 7th Infantry Division Association, lifetime member of VFW Post #2939, where he served as past commander, American Legion, Harry G. Myers Post # 142, lifetime member of Southern Indiana Horseman's Club, Perry County Coon Club, CVB board, Tell City Masonic Lodge #623, Lincoln Hills RC & D, Democrat precinct committee man, and a charter member of the Maple Syrup Association. Doc worked on the same farm for 44 years, operating a sawmill on the property. He retired in 1995 from IUOE Local 181, where he was a crane operator. He enjoyed horseback riding, playing euchre, woodworking, traveling, making maple syrup and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Terry, Tell City; sons, Roger Terry (Shannan), Tell City and Scott Terry (Patti) Grandview; daughters, Christie Froehlich (Bob), Tell City, Marsha Sabori (Tim), Nevada and Birdie Ann Bedal (Bill), California; a sister, Lavada Cronin, Tell City; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST, Monday, February 24, 2020 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery with military rites. Rev. Paul Alvey will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-6:00 PM and Monday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be to Lilly Dale Cemetery.
