Cannelton, Indiana - Mark ""Mac"" McManaway, 56, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010, at his home. He was born in Perry County on March 11, 1954. His father was the late Chester McManaway and his mother, Delores (Gaynor) McManaway survives him. Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Joseph Emil Jochem. A 1971 Cannelton High School graduate, Mark married the former Sabrina Kay Adkins on September 9, 1972 at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City. Mark was a truck driver for Flash Trucking, Inc., out of Wisconsin, serving Waupaca Foundry. He had also worked for Flash Kleeman Trucking and Foster Brothers Trucking. Mark fulfilled a lifelong dream to serve his country by joining the Indiana National Guard in 1983. He was a member of Company C First Battalion 152nd Infantry, 76th Infantry Brigade (SEP) stationed in Tell City. In 2002, he was stationed in Iraq for 18 months where he was military convoy security for civilian company, KBR, providing security for people to and from their civilian job sites. He retired from the Indiana National Guard in 2004 where he served for 21 years. Mark's son, Private Second Class Logan McManaway, just completed Advanced Individual Training and has been assigned to a unit in Germany. Mark was especially proud of his son's decision to serve his country. Mark enjoyed his horses, cooking, grilling out with friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He found pleasure in doing odd jobs and helping family and friends. Surviving: Wife of 37 years, Sabrina McManaway Daughters, Lori K. Jochem, her husband, Michael and their children, Marcia and Tyler; Jennifer Kellems her husband, John and their children, Tyler and Brandon; Ivy Young, her husband, Brad and their children, Austin, Corey and Matthew Schroeder and Korbin Young; Son, Private Second Class Logan McManaway, Mother, Delores McManaway Sisters, Vicky Hinton, Lisa Krueger and Donna Parker Brothers, Paul McManaway and Glenn McManaway Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, Pastor Jason Johns, officiating, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery where there will be full military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Families of Fallen Soldiers and American Cancer Society's Scleroderma Foundation.
