Evansville, Indiana - Mark E. Applegate, 55, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 21, 1956, in Tell City son of the late Blead Edward and Sylvia June (Elverd) Applegate. Also preceding him in death was his wife Mary Lois (Kennedy) Applegate. Mark was a U.S. Army veteran and a 20-year member of the Indiana National Guard where he was chosen to serve in security for the Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He retired as a forklift operator at Berry Plastics in Evansville. He enjoyed playing his guitar. He is survived by a daughter Angela Schaad, Tell City; sisters, Shannon Thomas, Donna Meredith, Stephanie Thompson, Kelly Claxton, all of Tell City and Marcie Sommer, Cannelton; brother, James Michael Applegate, Cannelton; 3 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Monday, November 14, 2011, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park, in Evansville, where there will be military rites. Pastor Marlin Betts will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association.
