Marjo Howe

Corydon, Indiana - Marjo J. (Ress) Howe, 80, of Corydon and formerly of Tell City, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born at home in Tell City, Indiana on July 2nd, 1942, the first child of John V. and Marieta C. (Paulin) Ress. Marjo was a graduate of Tell City High School and Indiana State University. She made her career as a microbiologist. She also operated several antique businesses over the years with her husband, Abe. She was an avid gardener, reader, and loved to travel throughout the United States and the world with her family and friends. Marjo was a long-time member of the Kentuckiana Herb Society and the Genealogy Society. She is survived by two daughters, Marjo Muir Wells of Sacramento, CA and Bridget Howe and partner,Ben Guerrero of Stamford, CT; a son, Jasin Howe, and wife, Maria Howe of Sacramento, CA; granddaughter, Amber Wells of Sacramento, CA; a great granddaughter, Alyssa Coleman of Sacramento, CA; sisters, Jane (Lynn) Kline of Evansville, IN and Mary (Steve) Farley of Franklin, KY; brother, Tom (Roberta) Ress of Athens, AL, sisters-in-law, Anna Lou Howe of Evanston, IN and Susan (Mark) Waterman of Chrisney, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, her husband, of 39 years, Dr. Alvin E. "Abe" Howe also preceded her in death. As per Marjo's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abe Howe Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund at California State University, East Bay.
