Marion Sibrel

Tell City, Indiana - Marion R. Sibrel, 82, passed away on October 11, 2012. He was born in Spencer County, on June 7, 1930. His parents were the late Taylor and Gladys (Sauter) Sibrel. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Sharon Sibrel-Stepro and brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Sibrel. A 1948 graduate of Chrisney High School, Marion attended Lockyear Business College. He married Jane Loney on December 22, 1962, at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was a United States Army veteran and was a charter member and deacon of Tell Street Baptist Church. Marion retired from Tell City Chair Company and later worked for Noble's IGA. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane Sibrel; daughters, Elaine Triplett (Fred), Columbus, Ohio and Phyllis Kiely (Michael), Radcliffe, Kentucky; granddaughters, Sharon, Marissa and Daria Kiely; brother, Earl Sibrel, Cannelton and nieces and nephews, including Sug Applegate, who helped care for him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Tell Street Baptist Church.
