Tell City, Indiana - Marietta Melberg, passed away on February 23, 2022, surrounded by friends and loved ones, at the age of 89. She was born March 23, 1932, in New Boston, daughter of Leo J. and Pauline V. (Schank) Klueh. A graduate of Tell City High School, Marietta was united in marriage on February 6, 1954, to Herbert C. Melberg, Sr. at St. Paul Catholic Church. They were the last couple to be married in the old St. Paul Church. Years ago, she had a store that she really enjoyed, "Country Lace", formerly on Main Street in Tell City. More than anything, she loved seeing her children grow into wonderful adults, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and grow and was thankful for the companionship of her dogs, Whiskey and Nick. She was well known for growing beautiful flowers and plants, cooking, gardening, canning and loved watching her son and grandchildren play sports. Marietta is survived by a son, Chandler (Debbie) Melberg, Tell City; daughter, Lori (Alan) Dauby, Tell City; grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Markham of Fredonia, KY, Sara (Nate) Butterworth of Utica, KY, Amanda (Matt) Layson of Owensboro, KY, Jonathan (Mariah) Melberg of Newburgh, Zachary (Alyssa) Melberg of Newburgh and Megan Cannon of Princeton, KY and great grandchildren, Chansey, Austin, Abie, Sam, Wyatt, Parker, Reese, Eli, Maxwell and Grayson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Herbert C. Melberg, Sr.; daughter, Sheila L. Daugherty and sister, Alberta Esarey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
