Cannelton, Indiana - Marguerite (Heck) Delaney, 86, of Pinellas Park, Florida and formerly of Cannelton, passed away on October 29, 2015, at Suncoast Hospice Brookside in Palm Harbor, Florida. Marguerite was born February 14, 1929, to the late John F. and Selma M. (Lupp) Heck. She graduated from Cannelton High School in 1947. Marguerite worked during and after high school at the Ben Franklin Dime Store and went on to work for Can-Tex, formerly Cannelton Sewer Pipe. She retired from Can-Tex after 32 years of service. Marguerite was united in marriage to Ernie Delaney on August 3, 1985. Together they moved to Pinellas Park, FL. She was a fan of baseball and very much enjoyed and followed the Tampa Bay Rays. She was a loving and nurturing "second mother" to many children in her life especially her nieces and nephews. Marguerite was the loving sister of Martha Robinson Plummer of Warren, Indiana and Ralph "Chris" Heck (Peggy) of Tell City. She was the loving aunt of Rosalee Walter (Gary), Byron Robinson (Marsha), David Robinson (Bob), Cindy Cain (David), Michael Heck, Todd Heck (Sarah), John Heck (Helga), Reggie Heck (Darlene), Kean Heck (Janice), Karen Click; several great nieces and nephews; step son, Jim Delaney (Linda) and step grandchildren, Chris Delaney (Whitney) and Lauren Delaney. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Delaney, parents, John F. and Selma M. Heck; sisters, Wilma Heck, Elma Heck, Erma Hodde and a brother, Milton Heck. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time. Rev. Mike Thompson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or American Cancer Society.
