Margaret Butler

Tell City, Indiana - Margaret Louise Butler, 88, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. She was born in Lamar, IN on August 8, 1928 Margaret was a 1946 graduate of Dale High School. She was united in marriage on October 6, 1949 to Keith "Red" Butler, who precedes her in death. Also preceding her in death are her parents, William Edward and Telitha (Gentry) Griepenstroh; and siblings, Edward, Albert, Eldo, Ralph, and Shirley, who all called her "Peggy". Margaret was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and also the American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Allen Butler (Meg) and Gary Butler (Debbie), both of Tell City; a brother Glen Griepenstroh (Delene) of Tell City; four grandchildren, Jennifer Jennings (Shannon Reed) of Brownsburg, IN, Matthew Butler (Meghan) of Tell City, IN, Lydia Butler (Michael Baird) of Hove, England, and Grant Butler (Ryan) of Evansville. Margaret was blessed with nine great-grandchildren to love and enjoy and several nieces and nephews who also survive her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev JT Hills will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Santa Claus. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00-7:00pm and Thursday 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Perry County Memorial Hospital or Evangelical United Church of Christ.
