Marcus Wright

Doolittle Mills, Indiana Marcus E. Wright, 83 passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare, Jasper, Indiana. Marcus was born in Doolittle Mills on August 17, 1925, son of the late David Wright and Abigail Underhill Wright. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oral and Murrel Wright, three sisters, Agnes Wetzel, Clara Maxey and Elfie Lynch. Marcus was united in marriage on February 19, 1949 to the former Alice Huffman who survives. A lifelong resident of Perry County, he retired from the former Jack C. Dodson Company of Jasper where he was employed as a pipefitter. Marcus was a WWII Navy veteran and member of the Alton American Legion Post # 133 and he loved hunting. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice, Four daughters, Elaine Fromme, Clarksville, Indiana Sharon Johnson, Doolittle Mills, Indiana Trish Huff, Birdseye, Indiana Janet Newkirk, Taswell, Indiana Six sons, Mark Wright, Doolittle Mills, Indiana Steve Wright, Doolittle Mills, Indiana Rick Wright, Hartford, Kentucky Terry Wright, Doolittle Mills, Indiana Stanley Wright, Doolittle Mills, Indiana Marty Wright, Bristow, Indiana 18 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT Friday, April 24, 2009 at Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills, with burial in the Doolittle Mills Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted. Bro. Al Madden will officiate. Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 PM CDT Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana and 9:00-10:00 AM CDT Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Doolittle Mills Cemetery.
