Luther Oost

Tell City, Indiana Luther V. Oost, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 7, 1929 to the late Vernon and Norma (Morris) Oost. Also preceding him in death was his wife Naomi (Poehlein) Oost in 2011 and a sister, Juanita Leatham. Luther was a Korean War Army veteran and enjoyed watching NASCAR and listening to country music. He had worked at Tell City Chair Company and retired in 1989 from General Elecrtric after 20 years. Surviving are his children, David Oost (Barbara), Sandra "Sandy" Little and Terri Richards (Tracy), all of Tell City; a brother, Allen Oost, Maceo, KY; grandchildren, Melissa Dauby, Amanda Carter, Chad Oost, Yvonna Holmes, Jonathan Wiseman, Jamie Henson and Jessica Richards and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Christian Watkins will officate. Huber Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Diabetes Association.
