Louise Vaught

February 18, 1930 — February 7, 2022

Louise Ester Vaught, 91, passed away quietly on February 7, 2022. Louise was born in Tell City, Indiana, on February 18, 1930, daughter of Hugo and Mary (Mann) Henze. Louise had four siblings, Bernadette H. Evrard, Geraldine Evrard Grass, Charles "Buddy" Henze, and Margie Elder. Louise was a 1948 graduate of Tell City High School. She married the love of her life, Thomas "Tom" Vaught June 10, 1954, who preceded her in death. Louise was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church until moving to Arizona nearly 60 years ago. She and Tom spent the next 50 years in Arizona where they continued working and building their life together. Louise worked at General Electric, JCPenney, and as a switch board operator. She loved music and listening to Tom's band "The Moonlighter's" on Saturday nights, where she would dance the night away. Louise also enjoyed visiting with family and friends, going out to dinner, and socializing. Wherever she went, Louise had a compliment for all. She loved her parents, siblings and her many nephews and nieces. Tom, however, was the love of her life up until the day she passed. Upon Tom's passing nearly 24 years ago, a large part of Louise passed also. Though she was alone for those many years, Louise mustered the strength to live a satisfying life. However, not a day went by that she didn't speak of Tom. She mourned him daily and the family now prays that Louise is at rest, alongside her beloved Tom. Her sister, Margie Elder, survives her along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; Hugo and Mary (Mann) Henze; husband; Tom Vaught; sisters; Bernadette Evrard, Geraldine "Gerry" Evrard Grass and brother Charles"Buddy" Henze. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2022 Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel, with burial immediately following in St. Mary Cemetery. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Perry County Memorial Hospital, Oakwood Health Campus, Heart to Heart Hospice and Huber Funeral Home for their compassion and much needed professional assistance. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
