Louise Hay

Tell City, Indiana Louise S. Hay, 92, passed away September 12, 2019 at Golden Living Center in Tell City. She was born in Bolivar, Ohio on March 22, 1927, daughter of the late Soloman and Maude (Langdon) Sweat. Louise was united in marriage at St. Augustine Catholic Church on February 7, 1950 to Thomas Hay, who preceded her in death in 2013. Also preceding her in death were her grandsons, Mark Huber and Jack Tuggle; siblings, Madeline Lampkin, Cornelia Badger, Maurine McClain, infant Allie Mae Sweat, Russell, Leonard, Mark, Burke, Matthew and Maurice Sweat. Louise was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing for her daughters, quilting where she made each grandchild their own quilt, and cooking for her family. She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies. Survivors include her children, Jane Huber (Paul), Racine, WI, Nancy Noland (Greg), Carmel, Mary Houghland (Charlie), Rob Hay and Joe Hay, all of Tell City and Molly Tuggle (Bob), Troy; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM and Saturday 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
