Loretta Schroeder

Tell City, Indiana Loretta J. Schroeder, 89, passed away March 10, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Evanston on May 20, 1927, to the late Elmer and Olivia (Huebschman) Polster. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Gene Holtzman, in 1975; a brother, Bill Polster and sister, Thelma Foertsch. A 1944 graduate of Chrisney High School, Loretta enjoyed sewing, reading, playing bridge and horse races. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Owensboro, Kentucky. Surviving are her children, Karen Syler (Dr. Steve), Rocky Point, Barry Holtzman, Eagle River, Wisconsin and Kim Miller (Donnie), Owensboro, Kentucky; a sister, Bertie Knepper, Evanston; six granddaughters, Stacy Holtzman, Stephanie Metrick, Amy Hollinden, Leigh Ann Manoj, Natalie Groves and Emily Miller and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 13, 2017, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Daniel Gadbaw will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Evanston. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or a favorite charity.
