Tell City, Indiana Lois C. Neyhouse, 87, passed away on August 3, 2023 at Brickyard Health Care. She was born on November 2, 1935 to the late Jesse and Mabel (Winchell) Schroeder. Lois was a 1953 graduate of Tell City High School and retired in 1999 from the Division of Family and Children after 15 years. Lois was devout to her Baptist faith and attended church when she was able. She loved her family and always looked forward to hosting Christmas at her house with everyone. Lois enjoyed reading, going to flea markets, collecting antiques and taking walks. Surviving are her children, Dean Hammack (Lisa), Indianapolis, Cliff Hammack (Lisa) and Wendy Tate, of Tell City; grandchildren, Wes Hammack, Colleen Smith and Jennifer Harber (Alex); step children, Steve Neyhouse (Debbie), Janet Goldman (Kenny) and Mike Neyhouse (Beth) and several great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Barry Hammack; first husband, Jesse Hammack; second husband, Arnold Neyhouse and a sister, Nella Mae Racine. The family wishes to thank Jane, Paula and Angela and everyone at Brickyard Health and the nurses with Heart-to-Heart Hospice who helped care for her. Visitation will be held from 1:00-5:00 PM CDT on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date with her family. Burial will be in Deer Creek Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shubael Little Pioneer Village. Condolences may be left at huberfuneralhome.com
