Lilly Burden

December 21, 1916 — July 1, 2015

Tobinsport, Indiana - Lilly M. Burden, 98, passed away on July 1, 2015, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. She was born December 21, 1916 in Hancock County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alois and Ida Belle (Starks) Spencer. Also preceding her in death was her husband Isiah "Ike" Burden, son, Jimmy Burden and several brothers and sisters. Lilly was non-denominational in her faith. During WWII Lilly worked as a welder at the Evansville shipyard. She retired from Dr. James Rogan's home at the age of 94. Lilly enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, fishing and hunting. She is survived by her son, Gary Burden, Cannelton; three grandchildren, Jimmy Lee and Jimmy Dale Burden and Cheryl Lynne Burden; eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel with burial in Lamb Cemetery in Tobinsport. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
