Tell City, Indiana - Lester J. "Tunney" Solbrig, 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Perry County on May 29, 1921. His parents were the late Alfred and Pearl (Sweat) Solbrig. Also preceding him was a son, Ronald Solbrig , Lester's wife, Mary (Lawalin) Solbrig, in 2004 and brother, Estil Solbrig. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Lester retired from Tell City Chair Company and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and watching the Miami Heat NBA team. Survivors include his daughters, Anita Moon, Terre Haute, Elaine Pfeiffer, Tell City; sons, Gary Solbrig, Bloomington, Michael Solbrig, Tell City and Keith Solbrig, Grandview; sister, Goldie Luecke, Tell City; grandchildren, Stephanie, Eric, Heather, Brent and Trish Solbrig, Nicole Weaver, Beth Trinkel, Brian and Doug Moon, Daniel Pfeiffer and Angela Magary and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November, 30, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday. Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
