Tell City, Indiana Leonard A. Goffinet, 95, passed away June 15, 2021. He was born in Ranger, Indiana on December 10, 1925, son of Albert H. and Laura (Dupont) Goffinet, who preceded him in death. Leonard was united in marriage on August 29, 1950 to Evelyn James. He was a Navy veteran serving from 1944-1946 during WWII. He retired as manager of Curt Dauby, Inc. Furniture and Appliance in 1990, when it closed, after 44 years. Leonard enjoyed gardening, pitching horseshoes and playing euchre. He also liked traveling to Florida and especially to Peoria, IL to visit relatives. Surviving are his wife of nearly 71 years, Evelyn Goffinet, Tell City; his children, Linda Freeman (Tom), Tell City, Larry Goffinet, Tell City and Cheryl Reiners (Doug), Evansville; a sister, Ann Ford (Doug Ambs), Rockport; grandchildren, Wendy Freeman (Michael Chann), Craig Freeman (Shana) and Kelly Freeman-Gray (Bobby); great- grandchildren, Rory and Juniper Chann and step great- grandchildren, Aubrey and Will Chann Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ferd Goffinet and a sister, Catherine Hagedorn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon CDT on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at St. Mark Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Donahue will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #213. Visitation will be at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel on Friday from 3 to 7 pm and Saturday 10 to 11:30 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church or Catholic Charities.
