Leonard Cassidy

Magnet, Indiana - Leonard N. Cassidy, 79, passed away February 3, 2014, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. He was born on December 10, 1934, in Magnet. His parents were the late Willard and Ella (Devillez) Cassidy. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Rosemary Young, Genie Riddle and Helene Shearn; a brother, Durward Cassidy and a grandson, Charlie Tuggle. A 1953 graduate of Oil Township High School, Leonard was a member of the Teamster's Union and was employed for several years with J.H. Rudolph and Company. After retirement, he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Mark Cassidy (Patty), Magnet, Debbie Waninger (Charlie), Tell City and Todd Cassidy (Mary), Tell City; sisters, Maxine Flaherty and Ruth Blandford, both of Tell City; grandchildren, Heather Cassidy, Candice Cassidy, Ross Waninger and Ashley Waninger; great grandchildren, Anthony, Oliva, Emilee, Callon, and Karson. As per Leonard's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. He requested that his children and their families gather at a later date for a private burial. Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Charlie Tuggle, to Schreiber Family Charities, P.O. Box 96, Tell City, Indiana 47586. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
