Leona James

Leona F. James, 59, passed away June 26, 2024, peacefully at her home.

She was born in Cannelton, Indiana on March 5, 1965.

Leona was a CNA at Heartland Villa Center in Lewisport for more than 20 years; she loved her patients who became like family to her. She was a homebody that enjoyed

listening to country music and watching murder mysteries. Leona loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Christina Gomez (Greg), Michael E. James (Ashley), Erica Sanders (Brandon), Michelle Weedman and Seth Bean; siblings, F. Mae Lynch (Larry), Mary Harrison, Suzie House, James “Willie” Cronin, Jr., Michael David Cronin and Joseph Cronin; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, James Willliam Cronin, Sr. and Helen (Layman) Devillez and a sister, Johanna Rager.

There will be no services. Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel is handling arrangements.
